Rumors are flying around about all sorts of trades. Brady Quinn is amongst these rumors. There are talks that Derrick Anderson is Eric Mangini’s guy at quarterback from here on out. So, the talk is to try and unload Quinn while there is still value there.

The trade deadline is October 20th. Mangini clearly would not surprise anyone if he did trade Quinn at this time. The unfortunate part is that I feel that Brady lacks the self confidence to at least play in Cleveland. Another team may be able to correct that. Quinn has been in the league for 3 years now, and is still considered in some instances to be a rookie as far as his experience goes.

The largest red flag is that Quinn has put his house, in Avon Lake (a suburb of Cleveland), on the market. Although, this doesn’t confirm anything, it does seem highly suspicious as far as the timing of the trade deadline looming. Perhaps Mangini has clued Quinn in on the situation and let him know that they will try to deal him.

There are teams out there that would take a QB like Quinn. Carolina, Washington, perhaps Tampa Bay. These teams come to mind. But with jokes of Quinn sexuality, it would be humorous if Quinn went to San Francisco. There are a couple teams that could use a decent QB that could still be molded. Quinn can be that guy.

Ultimately, I liked Quinn and felt that he could have been the QB of the Browns future but it doesn’t appear to be panning out that way (whether his fault or the fault of an external force). This might be the best move for Quinn as well to get him back out on the field. If he is not starting in Cleveland, perhaps it would be better to go somewhere he CAN play…

I would have to say that the majority of Cleveland fans wish Brady Quinn the best if he does get traded.
