If you haven’t seen this play yet, you have to watch the above video. The play occurred during a Bethel college football game. I really am not sure how this play even came into existence because of its risk factor, but for the moment, this is the trickiest play in football.

The play begins with a fake pitch to the halfback, which ultimately will drag the defense to the left side of the field. Following the fake pitch to the left, the Quarterback tosses the ball over his head to the right side. (Note: The fake pitch and throw is all one motion, which explains the risk factor). As the QB fakes the pitch, the Tight End lined up on the right side of the line runs a 5 yard curl route. The pass, if you can even call it a pass, floats to the intended Tight End on the right side, and ends up falling in the hands of the Tight End, resulting in a score.

The play appears to rely on the defensive setup because if a Linebacker dropped back in coverage, the ball would have most likely been intercepted and possibly taken back all the way. But luckily for Bethel, the play worked, and is now receiving national recognition.

So is this the end to the flea flicker? Or the statue of liberty? Or even the Wildcat? Let us know your thoughts on the play.

What a crazy play. Would be neat to see it in the NFL, but I doubt teams will adopt plays as risky as this.

I think I laughed for about 2 minutes. I was just waiting for the sound effects from Americas Funniest Home Videos. Thanks for the post.
