After being swept by the Cincinnati Bengals the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens both are in a fight for second place in the AFC North and a spot in the playoffs tonight when they face each other at M&T Bank Stadium.
The Ravens are coming off of a heartbreaking 17-15 loss to the undefeated Indianapolis Colts and looking to take it out on the next opponent and it happens to be the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers seem to be a different without safety Troy Polamalu and the Ravens have to take advantage of that in this game. Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, running back Ray Rice, wide receiver Derrick Mason and tight end Todd Heap need to get their mojo going tonight against a down Steelers defense.
Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs is doubtful for this game so that leaves Ravens safety Ed Reed and linebacker Ray Lewis to do all the dirty work tonight against a dangerous Steelers offense. Third string quarterback Dennis Dixon will be getting his first career start and will make a few mistakes and should work in the Ravens favor, but he has a strong supporting cast that will help him along the way, so the Ravens defense better stay on their toes.
The Ravens lost starting cornerback Fabian Washington for the year so that leaves rookie cornerback Lardarius Webb to start in place of him. Webb will have a tough task tonight facing two Super Bowl MVP wide receivers in Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes. The Ravens defense will also have to watch an up and coming star in second-year running back Rashard Mendenhall tonight.

Doubtful- LB Terrell Suggs,

Overtime! Without Big Ben and Polamalu, the Steelers could still pull this one out.
They could pull this one out Michael...but honestly I don’t know. That last drive had promise before it stalled. I think it’s your man Dixon’s night tonight.
Looks like the Steelers are handing it to them after those two penalties.
Looks like this one could be going into overtime.
Dixon to lead the game-winning drive here?

Khai-ski, do you think the Ravens are going to pull this one out?
The Collinsworth quote of the night: “there are men playing out there.” Incredible insight.
Just noticed I made the century mark. My new nickname for Dixon is DD2. That’s my dude!!! Go Dennis Dixon!!!
Hey Michael you got your 100th post. And Dixon just got took it in for a TD. WOW! I’m eating those words…
Come on Dixon, pick it up.
Dixon is starting to now look like a 3rd string QB. He had Wallace wide open.
Hey Adrian, yeah I’m about to send you an email right now. Sorry, got busy working on a few things. And yeah guys, I had a feeling that Thanksgiving weekend would be a little slow on the live blogs.
This game has gotten a little slow...that may be the reason it’s a ghost town in here.
Im at work and I got busy for a sec. Hines Ward WRECKED Ed Reed.
Very much so, where is everybody?
Wow it’s quiet in here…
Hey Blake. I just submitted a post for the 25 days of Xmas thing. Can you check it out and hit me up with a message to let me know if that is what you wanted. Thanks
Ravens are getting hammered by penalties on offense and defense.
Yeah, the Ravens and their penalties. I think we’ve live blogged their past five games, so we’ve seen a ton of penalties from them.
Steelers offense, sans Dixon and Holmes, all but ensured that drive wouldn’t go anywhere. Foolish penalties…
Dennis Dixon is looking very good right now. It would look a whole lot better for him if they would just quit with the penalties.
Orton is good for 5 or 6 yard passes all day. Still sucks.
These boys are hitting tonight.
I still hate Orton though, Adrian haha. And had I had a drink tonight while writing the Bears post, I probably would have been calling for them to replace the entire organization from top to bottom.
I sort of expected the Ravens to come out on fire tonight. They haven’t got a whole lot going though.
I’m taking the Ravens...no reason just want to see them get back to winning.
It’s ok, some people may take the bashing thing too far.
