The best running back in football is Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, he’s led the NFC in rushing as a rookie, 2nd in the NFL and has led the NFL in rushing the last two years and until Chris Johnson does that, Adrian Peterson is the best running back in the NFL. Now if the question is who is the best running back in the NFL “this season” or “in the last five games”, then the answer would be Chris Johnson.

Johnson is gaining yards because the opposing defense have one more thing to prepare for when they play the Tennessee Titans, VINCE YOUNG and his ability to run as well, defenses stacked up on Chris Johnson because Kerry Collins was no real threat, Vince Young is. With the defense having to prepare for Young passing, Young running and Johnson running, it opens up alot more opportunities for Johnson. I would like to see where Johnson’s numbers would be if Kerry Collins was still starting…HMMMMM!!!

I will not crown Chris Johnson best running back in the league because he’s on pace to break a record or he has had five great games this year, its not fair to Peterson and what he’s done the last three years in the league. Where was Chris Johnson when the Titans were 0-6? Wait I know where he was, playing decent until Vince Young came in and started winning games.

Chris Johnson is the best running back in the league this year. He is flat out producing more than any other running back, and the stats say that. Last year Johnson split carries with Lendale White. Do you think the teams playing the Vikings only have to worry about Adrian Peterson? What about #4 and his 112.1 Passer Rating. If Chris Johnson gets 2000 yards he will be only the 6th person in 95 years of Pro Football to do so. Will he be better than A.P. then? Just to let you know. Im a big fan of Adrian Peterson. We got the same first name. Just to set things straight, CJ has not done as much as AP but the past is the past.

I’d say you’re right on this. Johnson is a beast, but it’s hard to argue against Peterson. He’s helped out Favre a lot this year.

Adrian Peterson has always been a premier back. Chris Johnson has been the premier back this year. I think they will be the top 2 for a long time.
