Welcome everyone to a special edition of Roundtable Predictions here on BlitzNation! I know that we normally pick five NFL games each week, but with college bowl season in full swing, we’ve decided to turn our attention this week to the BCS bowl games. Those games start today, as the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks face off in the Rose Bowl, while the Florida Gators take on the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Sugar Bowl.

So as we do every week with NFL games, we’ve got our expert panel together to give their thoughts on today’s action. Let’s get right to the predictions!

Rose Bowl: Ohio State vs. Oregon

Blake Lovell - “This one will pretty intriguing, as we’ll see if the Buckeye defense can slow down this high-powered attack from Oregon. While a part of me thinks that Ohio St. comes out on a mission, and plays extremely well, the other part of me thinks that Oregon simply has too much speed for the Buckeyes. And well, I can’t pick this game as a tie. Advantage: Oregon.” Oregon 27-21

Blaize Pennington - “This should be a fun game to watch as USC is finally not in the Rose Bowl. Pryor revealed that he is playing with a partially torn PCL. Not to mention the Oregon offense is just so potent. LaMichael James is having an incredible year with 1500 yards rushing and its all complimented by the scrambling style of Jeremiah Masoli. I expect Oregon to take control in this game.” Oregon 31-21

Kyle Phillippi - ” Jeremiah Masoli and the flashy Oregon offense will be too much for the Buckeyes’ defense.” Oregon 30-23

Khai Gordon - “Both of these teams closed out the season playing some great football. This one is a toss up for me, because I just feel like either one could win. The key to this game will be who plays their best for 60 minutes; and if I had to guess, which I am doing right now, I’d lean towards Ohio with slight edge.” Ohio State 27-21

Michael Robinson - Oregon 31-27

Sugar Bowl: Florida vs. Cincinnati

Blake Lovell - “While this game was interesting before, it got even more interesting in a hurry after Brian Kelly left for Notre Dame, and Urban Meyer announced that he’ll be taking a leave of absence. That will affect what happens on the field on both sides, and though Cincy can talk all they want about being even more driven now, they will have a letdown. The Gators are the better team.” Florida 28-17

Blaize Pennington - “Brian Kelly left. This will leave a bitter taste in Cinci’s mouth. They aren’t going to be at the same level we have seen them all year and will lose to Florida’s incredible defense.” Florida 27-14

Kyle Phillippi - “Tebow’s FINAL game = tough day for Bearcats. Expect Tebow to play his heart out in this contest, and keep your on Florida’s Tight End, Aaron Hernandez.” Florida 36-13

Khai Gordon - “This game is a statement game for Florida. I mean with the team they fielded this season not making it to the National Championship was a huge bust. And with “Retirement-Gate” unfolding before our eyes will that be a distraction for these players? Only time will tell but certainly not interested either way is an impressive Cincinnati team that knows how to win and would love to inject more misery into the Gators season finale. It’s gonna be hard but I think Florida gets the emotional edge and pulls this one out.” Florida 31-28

Michael Robinson - Florida 34-30
