We’ve reached day three here on our exciting New Year’s Resolution Special, and today, our topic of choice is some ideas for certain NFL players. We all have some type of resolution for the new year, and we’ve decided to come up with a few resolutions that might fit specific players in the league.

So without any further ado, here’s a few resolutions:

Brett Favre
Suggested Resolution: Find more innovative ways to skip training camp.

Maybe this isn’t Favre’s resolution, but it sure is mine. I would like Brett to continue to pull at our strings in the offseason, before he completely decides on his future. At the end of the season, maybe he should announce his retirement. Then a few weeks later, leak it out there that he wants to return….and play for the Browns, so that he can reunite with Mike Holmgren. Then a few weeks before training camp rolls around, announce his retirement again. Because this is what we want. Especially those of us that watch ESPN. We miss the Favre tracker at the bottom of the screen.

Jay Cutler
Suggested Resolution: Lower your interceptions….by about half.

Being a Bears’ fan, I’m not and never have put the entire blame on Cutler. There’s a whole lot of issues with that Chicago team right now, and Cutler is one of the more skilled players they’ve got. But 26 interceptions is a lot. I mean, a whole lot. If the Bears do decide to surround Cutler with more talent, he’ll still need to limit some of his bad throws, and try to stop forcing passes into small spaces.

Chad Ochocinco
Suggested Resolution: Figure out Darrelle Revis.

So I guess Ochocinco has finally met his match. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a defender lock down the man formerly known as Johnson (actually, he should be changing his name back to Johnson very soon after saying that there’s no way Revis would stop him), but Revis did just that in the final two games played between the Jets and Bengals. I’m not sure what our favorite NFL tweeter needs to do to gain the edge, but perhaps less tweeting and more practice is a start.

Tony Romo
Suggested Resolution: Keep your current girlfriend.

I mean, has Romo played any better in his career than this year? It seems like he’s playing his most confident football of the season, and no longer has to worry about all the distractions that come with having a high-profile celebrity girlfriend. Maybe we were right. Again, don’t underestimate the less popular ones.

Steven Jackson
Suggested Resolution: Demand a trade.

This guy deserves better. There’s simply no doubt about it. No one gets to watch Jackson play every week, because he plays for the atrocious St. Louis Rams. Sure, you know his stats, because chances are, he’s on your fantasy team or on the fantasy team of the guy who just beat you. I want to see this guy play on a good team. He’s a game-changer, and I want to see him play with a respectable team.

Peyton Manning
Suggested Resolution: Find more receivers to make into studs.

When Anthony Gonzalez went down early in the season, there were a lot of question marks for the Colts. Peyton still had his usual suspects in Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne, but if that was it, there was no way this team could be all that dangerous offensively. So what does Peyton do? He makes Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon studs. These two have been crucial to the Colts’ success, so I guess now we’ll just wait and see who Manning decides he wants to make into a superstar in 2010.

Chris Johnson
Suggested Resolution: Beat Usain Bolt in a footrace.

This has been talked about for a long time now. But I want to see this happen. I mean, could arguably the fastest guy in the NFL beat the fastest guy in the WORLD? Honestly, I don’t think so. But it would be fun to watch Johnson try. After the 2009 that Johnson had on the field, I wouldn’t put anything past him heading into the new year. The guy is a beast, and one of the networks need to lock up this race soon. Because it’d probably draw pretty good ratings.

Terrell Owens
Suggested Resolution: Do more driveway sit-ups.

That’s really the only thing I can see that will help his career at this point. I mean, if he does decide that Buffalo is the best place for him, then it’s going to be a little tougher to achieve, ya know, with it being so cold outside and all. But TO was at his best when he was doing that. This year, we sort of just forgot about him. And I mean c’mon, isn’t the NFL so much more exciting when we get to hear about a new TO story every day?!

So what are some of your suggested New Year’s Resolutions for NFL players?
