Our favorite NFL entertainer, Chad Ochocinco, recently performed a hit off of his upcoming debut album. The title is “Dat Ain’t My Baby” and this is what it sounds like. If all the songs on his new album sound like this, then I’m fairly certain that Mr. Ochocinco will not be releasing another album in the future. More »

An interesting suggestion has surfaced throughout the media of how to make the Super Bowl a bit friendlier to all audiences. That proposal is to change the traditional super Sunday to super Saturday which would accommodate for a day of recovery for school children, business employees, and those with early morning rises the following day. Watching Brett Favre throw a costly interception in the NFC Championship Game for the second time in three seasons definitely left a bad taste in the mouths of Brett Favre fans everywhere. If Favre retires this offseason, and I mean actually RETIRES, will Brett be remembered as the guy that always choked in the big spot, or will he be remembered as one of the greatest QBs to ever play the position? Of course you can argue that he will be remembered as both, but if you had to sum up Favre in one word, what would it be? More »

The NFL is home to two Manning brothers, Peyton and Eli. Unfortunately, one of the Manning brothers had to sit at home while the NFL playoffs were progressing. Eli Manning is the brother on the outside of the playoff picture, which means that Peyton is the last chance for the Manning family. In order for the Manning family to once again hoist the Lombardi trophy, Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts will have to win their next, and final game against the New Orleans Saints in Super Bowl XLIV. Even though Eli is not in the Super Bowl, there is still a “Manning Bowl” occuring. More »

This year’s Pro-Bowl has quickly become something of an alternates party rather than an actual all-star game. Before, it was actually a bit enjoyable to tune into this season concluder that featured the best of the best in the NFL. But with the various rule changes for it this year (including the fact that Super Bowl participants cannot participate because the Pro-Bowl is now being played a week prior to it rather than after it), and what seems to be a massive load of declined invitations to the event, this season’s display of the all-stars is steadily turning into a watered-down contest of little interest. An announcement regarding a popular Eagle this afternoon solidifies the continued drama of this year’s Pro-Bowl; after supposedly being “snubbed” from the NFC roster after a solid 2009 campaign, CB Sheldon Brown (pictured) officially confirmed today that he has turned down a chance at playing in the special game. Until watching the near surgical dismantling of the league’s number one defense in the New York Jets on Sunday by Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts with their two greatest weapons wideout Reggie Wayne and tight end Dallas Clark rendered virtually non-existent, it would have been a no-brainer to say that the New Orleans Saints have more offensive weapons than the Colts. However, after the performance turned in by the tandem of Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie, it would be wise to rethink that automatic response and conduct some more thorough examination of the offenses as a whole. So I was watching NFL Network this morning (as is required of me to go along with my morning coffee) and they started the 6 month long discussion of whether or not Brett Favre was going to retire. I know, I am super excited to talk about this again too. Well Deion Sanders chimed in that Favre told somebody after the game that most likely going to retire. Now maybe Neon Deion was being facetious or maybe he was just making fun, but he seemed really serious that Favre was telling the truth. Well Ed Reed also told reporters right after his team lost that he was “50-50″ about retiring. More »

The Indianapolis Colts clinched their bid to play for the right to be crowned NFL champions this season. But did you know that when the Colts clinched, it also gave way for Matt Stover to place his name among legends. That is, the elderly legends. The Colts kicker will be the oldest player to ever play in a Super Bowl game in NFL history. More »

Yesterday, a bundle of additions to the Pro-Bowl rosters were announced, mostly because replacements are now needed for players from the Super Bowl-bound Colts and Saints who were originally voted in but are now obviously eliminated from allowance to playing in the game because of this year’s new rules. In what was a pleasant moment for the Eagles, a pair of their own players were a part of the NFL’s package of all-star additions; QB Donovan McNabb and SS Quintin Mikell were among those given spots on the NFC roster. While McNabb expected to earn an appearance because either Minnesota’s Brett Favre or New Orleans’ Drew Brees (both original Pro-Bowlers) was going to advance to the Super Bowl, Mikell was a bit surprised at his honoring. Following Garrett Hartley’s heroic 40-yard, game-winning, overtime field goal, we are finally set for the most anticipated game of the calendar year; the Super Bowl. More »
