When initially putting the title on this article, I pondered the idea of placing phrases such as “Welcome to the Eternal Nightmare” or “Black Hole” on instead, but I settled on the simpler, more cheerful “Welcome to the Offseason!”. Yes, the offseason has indeed arrived, and while it has actually been here for about a month for most teams, it only technically began last evening when the Saints wrapped up their Super Bowl victory over the Colts.
In various instances, the off time away from football can get extremely dry and lacking of things to discuss, but we’ve got some things to look forward, as usual. The first and juiciest free agency period is a bit less than a month away, and the annual Combine and Draft are also on the way. Besides these important events, there’s always the constant flow of gossip and rumors to focus on as teams attempt to tune up their rosters and coaching staffs for the new season.
Of course, news and happenings regarding the NFL teams will continue to be made available as we advance past 2009 and heads toward the 2010 campaign. With the Super Bowl over and the season officially over, I wish you all a warm welcome to the offseason!
