To start off, “sans” mean without… so, the Philadelphia Eagles have NOT traded Donovan McNabb to the Cleveland Browns. They have, however, traded CB Sheldon Brown and LB Chris Gocong to Cleveland for the Browns’ fourth and fifth round picks (105 and 137 overall) in next month’s draft and linebacker Alex Hall. As stated by Andy Schwartz of the CSNPhilly.com.

This means the Browns can bolster their defense from last year to get it up to snuff as far as Mike Holmgren is concerned. This also allows the Eagles room for development where ever they like with the addition of a replacement LB.

This should work for both teams here. This deal was able to happen due to the Cleveland hiring of Tom Heckert from the Eagles. Now, the Browns have an in with Philadelphia, just like last year when Eric Mangini had an in with the New York Jets.

The Browns have not even played a game in the 2010 season but I think we can agree that they are already a better team.
