It’s only been about a month since Josh McDaniels and the Denver Broncos made a somewhat surprising move by drafting Tim Tebow late in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. But guess what? Tebow is already moving up the depth chart in Denver, as the Broncos released third-string QB Tom Brandstater, which now puts Tebow in that third spot. More »

There are still some names on the free agent market, but none of those will garner the attention of St. Louis Rams safety O.J. Atogwe. It was made official that St. Louis decided not to re-tender him at the pricey $6.976 million that would have been required for such a move to ensure them of his presence on their roster in 2010. The Rams centerfielder on defense had his 2009 season shortened by a shoulder injury that ultimately landed him on injured reserve and he also had hernia surgery this offseason. Those potential injury concerns will have to be thoroughly examined by any teams looking into inking him now that he is on the open market. More »

There will be no preseason number one in the NFL nor will any rankings ever be made by the coaches and media concerning the thirty-two professional football franchises. We all know that certain teams are sitting above others in the league’s pecking order however and that paves the way for some power ranking considerations. More »

My how I love me some power rankings. The NFL isn’t like college. The Associated Press and the coaches don’t vote week in and week out to provide a list of who they think is the best team in the league, which makes sense since there are nowhere near as many NFL teams as college teams, and well, the coaches have so many different kinds of agendas that the rankings would probably be a complete joke. New England Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss made some headlines recently with the firing of his long time agent Tom DiPiero. Speculations were rampant that Moss was going to retire with just one year remaining on his current contract in New England and the Patriots likely not looking to re-sign the aging veteran after his deal expires. Although this would have made for a juicy story across the league, Moss cleared up those misconceptions when speaking to the Boston Herald telling the paper that he was simply setting himself up for a new chapter in his career which will likely take place in a different city after the 2010 season. It’s actually been a pretty good last year or so for Saints’ running back Reggie Bush. He was a key component in the Saints’ Super Bowl victory over the Indianapolis Colts in February, and Bush’s play on the field had gotten much better, which was one of the reasons why the Saints were even in position to win a Super Bowl. But now it looks as though Bush could possibly lose something that’s very valuable to him: his Heisman trophy. Word spread today that the NCAA would unveil its’ findings on the USC program on Friday, and we would then know what type of penalties would be handed down. More »

When we heard the news a few days ago that the NFL had decided to award New York the 2014 Super Bowl, all sorts thoughts started to run through the minds of NFL fans. What if there’s a blizzard, and the Super Bowl has to be delayed? How will the frigid temperatures affect the quality of the game? And so on, and so on. These are legitimate questions to ask since we’re use to seeing the biggest game in American football played in a warm weather city. But now, it sounds like NFL commissioner Roger Goodell might be thinking about more Super Bowls taking place in cold weather cities. More »

Some very surprising news coming out of Seattle this afternoon, as the Seattle Seahawks have officially waived newly acquired running back LenDale White. I’m not sure anyone saw this coming, and if they did, it certainly wasn’t expected to be this quick. More »

The past few years have been pretty interesting if you’re a fan of the Green Bay Packers. You lose the face of your franchise to retirement, un-retirement, the New York Jets, retirement, un-retirement, and your division rival, the Minnesota Vikings. But to some fans, Brett Favre will always be their favorites…..well, maybe until now. More »

With all of the negative press surrounding the world of sports and drugs today, the New Orleans Saints escapade with allegations of Vicodin being taken illegally from their facilities by certain staff members was enough of a black eye for the NFL. There is now another incident to add to the list of illegal possession of a controlled substance as San Diego Chargers second year safety Kevin Ellison was stopped for a routine violation of speeding in a school zone and then his automobile was searched. The officer discovered 100 pills of Vicodin and arrested Ellison for having those drugs in his possession where he was later released on $10,000 bail. More »
