Football fans are all aware by now of the suspension levied by the league Commissioner Roger Goodell that will sideline Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger for at least the first four games of the 2010 season. The implications of that punishment could be devastating for the Steelers campaign in the upcoming year however; as they face two difficult home opponents in the opening contest with the Atlanta Falcons and in week 4 against the division rival Baltimore Ravens. Pittsburgh also has two road tilts stuffed in between those games at the Tennessee Titans in week two and then at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week three. More »

So it’s that time of year again when everyone gets all bent out of shape over the result of the Pro Bowl popularity contest known as “voting” and this year is most likely no exception. Snubs are always a popular water cooler conversation starter and the list seems to begin and end this year with Tony Gonzalez on the NFC side of the coin. Gonzalez is fifth in the conference in receptions behind only Jason Witten in the tight end category. For a guy who spent the first 12 seasons with one team (Kansas City Chiefs), Gonzalez made the transition to the Atlanta Falcons look seamless swapping conferences and continuing with the same consistent productivity. Its halfway through the season and I’m going to break down my picks for the top five running backs in the league. This going to be based on all aspects of being a running back, not just yards or just touchdowns, but rather a compilation of everything. More »

The GM position for the Cleveland Browns has been vacant for about a week now. It is reported that Randy Lerner has a short list of potential replacements with Ex-Head Coach of the Green Bay Packers/Seattle Seahawks Mike Holmgren topping the list. More »

The New Orleans Saints’ unbeaten start has come entirely outside the NFC South, but a seventh straight victory could give them a crystal-clear path to a division title.

So while we’re all trying to forget that embarrassing performance in Cincinnati yesterday, I’m going to attempt to figure out where the Bears are going wrong right now. It’s not like they are a horrible football team, they just aren’t doing some very important things right now, which is leading to these losses the past two weeks. More »

When I wrote my Falcons at Cowboys preview, I’m pretty sure I put in there somewhere that we simply couldn’t expect Miles Austin to catch a lot of balls and have an incredible game every single time the Cowboys take the field. Well, I was obviously wrong. Austin got it done again today, racking up 171 receiving yards on just six catches and two scores, as Dallas knocked off Atlanta 37-21.

Let’s look back at today’s game: More »

There’s a big NFC showdown taking place in Arlington tomorrow, as the Dallas Cowboyshost the Atlanta Falcons. A lot of people are labeling this game as a must-win for the Cowboys if they want to have a shot at the playoffs this season, and that may be true. With the Giants and Eagles both having winnable games this week, the Cowboys need to try and keep up with a victory of their own.

With that being said, let’s get to this week’s preview. More »
