We can only hope THIS Brandon Jacobs comes to play tonight in Washington. Somehow I doubt it though.
This is a huge game for the New York Giants tonight. They have an opportunity to continue on with their playoff hopes if they pull out this divisional win against the Washington Redskins. More »
I’m not going to front. I fully expect the Dallas Cowboys to come into the Meadowlands and crush the New York Giants. I believe them to better than the Denver Broncos and from what I witnessed on Thanksgiving, I expect much of the same. More »
The New York Giants and their season is in grave danger. The season is all but over and they seem incapable of pulling it together playing flat out terribly. Making matters worse they’ve lost the heart, soul and emotional leader of this defense after middle linebacker Antonio Pierce was placed on injured reserve this week after being diagnosed with a bulging disk in his neck. The one inconsistent unit on this team has been its defense, so losing Pierce may prove to be detrimental in the long run. Quarterback Eli Manning and the offense have had their moments and quite frank Manning has played well so far. The problem for the Giants don’t end with personnel and injuries however, it’s been overwhelmingly the coaching. Defensive and offensive coordinators Bill Sheridan and Kevin Gilbride are suffocating the talent on this team. Gilbride doesn’t seem to have an understanding of his players, calling plays that don’t highlight their strengths. And Sheridan has a defense that formally worked effortlessly in dominating opposing offenses but now teams drive up and down the field on as if they’re a totally different unit. Bottom line, trouble! The word for last week’s game was “supremacy” and as the New York Giants learned the New Orleans Saints are the supreme team in the NFC possibly the league. Last week’s clobbering left the Giants to deal with the reality of being just a good team, with a lot to prove as they look to redeem themselves Sunday night against the Arizona Cardinals. More »
It’s that time again, folks. It’s time to get those fantasy football lineups ready for another great weekend of football games. Here are some of the not-so-obvious players that I’d start and sit for week 7.
Remember: Six teams are on their bye week, including the Ravens, Broncos, Lions, Jaguars, Seahawks, and Titans. More »
In the battle of the undefeated’s the New York Giants (5-0) battle the New Orleans Saints (4-0) on the road. The Saints are coming off of their bye week and are looking to resume their perfect season with a win over the visiting Giants. While the Giants are coming off of the clobbering they put on the Oakland Raiders and are finally matching up with an equally talented team. More »
There are games in the National Football League and then there are “GAMES” in the National Football League. This game will surely have a playoff atmosphere and the winner will have “bragging rights” in the NFC for the season, but in the end, it’s a week six match-up of two powerhouses that still have a lot to prove and a lot more football to play. What I believe this game will come down to ultimately is coaching. Head coach Tom Coughlin is a master at preparing the New York Giants every week regardless of the competition he faces. The Giants show up on the field ready to compete. Head coach Sean Payton leads a New Orleans Saints team that has also played well and shows up in big games. I expect both teams to take the field on Sunday ready for a exciting game.
You know I try to love all of my New York Giants equally, but some of them just make me love them more than others.
Such is the case with Giants running back Brandon Jacobs, who was recently quoted saying, that if his numbers don’t improve this season he’ll retire from football at the end of the season. Gotta love this guy! That’s how you set an ultimatum for yourself. Either go hard or go home, and for Brandon I’m betting on him going hard. More »
Well Cowboy fans, despite the heartbreaking loss last night against the New York Giants, the sun has still risen this morning. But that doesn’t mean last night’s loss doesn’t still sting a little bit.
Quite frankly, it’s a game the Cowboys should have won. Let’s take a look back at some key spots in last night’s game: More »
