In a sport like American football, injuries are just a part of the game. Players have played through injuries ever since the game existed, and for the average fan, it’s hard to imagine playing through some of these particular injuries. Which is why I am fairly confident that no one will ever question Dallas Cowboys‘ running back Marion Barber’s toughness again. Word came out today that Barber tore his quad all the way back in Week 2 of the season, but just kept on playing throughout the rest of the season. More »

There will be no preseason number one in the NFL nor will any rankings ever be made by the coaches and media concerning the thirty-two professional football franchises. We all know that certain teams are sitting above others in the league’s pecking order however and that paves the way for some power ranking considerations. More »

My how I love me some power rankings. The NFL isn’t like college. The Associated Press and the coaches don’t vote week in and week out to provide a list of who they think is the best team in the league, which makes sense since there are nowhere near as many NFL teams as college teams, and well, the coaches have so many different kinds of agendas that the rankings would probably be a complete joke. Some really awesome NFL stadiums saw their last football game in the 2009 season. First there was Texas Stadium, former home of the Dallas Cowboys, that gave way to what can now only be known as “Jerry-World.” And now we turn our attention to Giants Stadium, which saw its’ press box go boom a few days ago. Ok, so maybe the title above is up for debate depending on your thoughts on him. But it’s clear that Tony Romo loves him some football. Or at least he loves it more than golf, which is why Romo opted out of qualifying for the Byron Nelson Championship, and decided to attend the Cowboys’ first OTA of the off-season. More »

A sad sight earlier today for fans of the Dallas Cowboys, as Texas Stadium was officially demolished. Down with the stadium went tons of memories of great Cowboys’ games, and plenty of other sporting events that took place at the venue throughout the years.

But Cowboy fans should still be happy, since their current stadium is about the size of a small country. I’d say that Jerry-World will probably rack up just as many memories as Texas Stadium did, and probably many more.

To some people, it’s just March 1st. But for NFL fans, this should feel like Christmas day. Why? Because we have official reports that a certain player named Pacman Jones could be making his return to the league. He is scheduled to work out for NFL scouts on March 19 according to reports. More »

The NFL announced the addition of several players to the Pro-Bowl rosters today. Due to various issues–mostly injuries–the following players have been invited to the all-star game in several weeks: More »

Yeah, yeah. The postseason would have been a lot better if the Eagles remained a contender for the Super Bowl. But we have to get past that, and if you haven’t already…well, do it. It will only benefit your self-esteem and continuing love for the Birds. Despite the grieving fact that there were no signs of a Philadelphia team in this weekend’s divisional playoff round, now is the time to release a snicker, giggle, smirk, or laugh at the rival Cowboys and their fan base. Sure, they did knock us out of the postseason last week and swept us on the season, but their collapse today to fall out themselves is a pleasurable thing for us Eagle followers. More »

After yet another day of playoff blowouts on Saturday, we can only hope that today’s slate of games offers us some better viewing. Most of us nailed our predictions for yesterday’s game, but can we do it again today? Let’s find out. More »
