Another exciting week of NFL action is upon us, and we kick things off today with the Philadelphia Eagles traveling to take on the Atlanta Falcons in a game that will have huge playoff implications. More »

We can thank the Atlanta Falcons a little bit as we progress towards Week 13 of the 2009 season. Of course, it’s never very respectable to be happy upon someone’s injuries, but as of now, the Eagles’ upcoming opponent is likely to keep out several of their key players because of pain they’re experiencing. Their starting QB Matt Ryan (pictured) is tending to stiffness and soreness in one of his toes–and head coach Mike Smith has already ruled him out of this Sunday’s action. In addition to Ryan’s expected absence, Michael Turner, the Falcons’ leading Running Back who has 864 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns, is having trouble keeping his sprained ankle in good condition, and is unsure of whether he will be able to play versus the Eagles. More injury news out of the NFL, and once again, it’s at the quarterback position. Falcons’ QB Matt Ryan has offically been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles, after suffering a toe injury this past weekend against the Bucs. More »

It’s obviously not a great week to be a quarterback in the NFL. Big Ben is out this week, as is Kurt Warner for the Cards. Then Mark Sanchez leaves the Jets game with an injury, and now Matt Ryan is out for the rest of the game for the Falcons with a toe injury. More »

The New Orleans Saints’ unbeaten start has come entirely outside the NFC South, but a seventh straight victory could give them a crystal-clear path to a division title.

A Monday night win over visiting Atlanta would also match the best start in franchise history and keep the Saints alone atop the NFC, and the Falcons’ defense will need to improve quickly if it hopes to slow Drew Brees’ high-powered attack. More »

It’s report card day here on BlitzNation, and the Dallas Cowboys are coming off of what is probably their most impressive victory of the season, as they knocked off the Atlanta Falcons 37-21 on Sunday.

So good grades are bound to be all over the place this week, so let’s get right to it. More »

When I wrote my Falcons at Cowboys preview, I’m pretty sure I put in there somewhere that we simply couldn’t expect Miles Austin to catch a lot of balls and have an incredible game every single time the Cowboys take the field. Well, I was obviously wrong. Austin got it done again today, racking up 171 receiving yards on just six catches and two scores, as Dallas knocked off Atlanta 37-21.

Let’s look back at today’s game: More »

Chicago fans, it’s report card day here on BlitzNation, and after the Bears’ difficult loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night, the grades will vary quite a bit. And I’ll go ahead and tell you right now, I’m not holding anything back this time around. Why? Because I was in Atlanta for this one, and was certainly disappointed with the outcome.

With that being said, let’s jump to the report card. More »

Matt Ryan, coming off of his 2008 Rookie of the Year honors, has looked sharp thus far, and has grown comfortable with Tight End Tony Gonzalez. The gameplan for tonight’s game will most likely be to pound the rock early, and then open the playbook up for Matt Ryan later on. Running Back Michael Turner has not played well this season, at least not as well as he did last season, but if he can carry the ball for positive yards tonight and continue moving the chains, the offense for Atlanta should be unstoppable.
