After a relatively quiet off-season since the Super Bowl, the Dallas Cowboys made a big splash in the first round of the NFL Draft, when they traded up 3 spots to nab wide receiver Dez Bryant. More »

We know some players who have been having some fun this week. With a few days to go before the 2009 season officially comes to a close with the Super Bowl, DeSean Jackson, Eli Manning, and more NFL stars have been out and about, doing seemingly everything possible in Miami, the site of the league’s final game. Why are they there, you ask? If you remember, some of them were participants in last weekend’s Pro-Bowl, but that’s been over; Jackson and co. has been at work in a very different place as of late. The explosive players were involved in some of the Gatorade company’s athletic performance tests within the Gatorade Performance Lab so that he can promote not only himself, but the sports drink corporation, and the overall hype at the media gatherings for Super Bowl XLIV. Other football players, including Cowboys’ WR Miles Austin, also took part in the tests with Jackson. More »

After watching the entire Cowboys-Saints game, from start to finish, I finally understand Chris Berman’s most famous line; “That’s why they play the game.” More »

I’m not going to front. I fully expect the Dallas Cowboys to come into the Meadowlands and crush the New York Giants. I believe them to better than the Denver Broncos and from what I witnessed on Thanksgiving, I expect much of the same. More »

The New York Giants and their season is in grave danger. The season is all but over and they seem incapable of pulling it together playing flat out terribly. Making matters worse they’ve lost the heart, soul and emotional leader of this defense after middle linebacker Antonio Pierce was placed on injured reserve this week after being diagnosed with a bulging disk in his neck. The one inconsistent unit on this team has been its defense, so losing Pierce may prove to be detrimental in the long run. Quarterback Eli Manning and the offense have had their moments and quite frank Manning has played well so far. The problem for the Giants don’t end with personnel and injuries however, it’s been overwhelmingly the coaching. Defensive and offensive coordinators Bill Sheridan and Kevin Gilbride are suffocating the talent on this team. Gilbride doesn’t seem to have an understanding of his players, calling plays that don’t highlight their strengths. And Sheridan has a defense that formally worked effortlessly in dominating opposing offenses but now teams drive up and down the field on as if they’re a totally different unit. Bottom line, trouble! Watching Roy Williams struggle to fit in as a wide receiver in Dallas has me thinking about a role change for Roy E. Seeing how the Cowboys’ offense operates, and how Tony Romo chooses where to throw the ball, I think that it is in Dallas’ best interest to use Roy Williams in certain situations. More »

The killer combination of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Miles Austin arose from the dead and destroyed yet another team as they lead the now 8-3 Cowboys to a 24-7 victory over the Oakland Raiders. More »

There’s a big NFC showdown taking place at Lambeau Field tomorrow, as the red hot Dallas Cowboys head into cheesehead territory to take on the Green Bay Packers. While the Cowboys are one of the hottest teams in the league, the Packers are one of the teams that have started to hit the panic button. This is basically a must-win for the Pack if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. More »
