Welcome to day two of our BlitzNation Valentine’s Day Special, as we continue to get you ready for a lovely Valentine’s Day this Sunday. Yesterday, we discussed players finding a new team to be their valentines. Today, we’re gonna discuss players finding a celebrity to be their perfect valentine. More »
When the New Orleans Saints head home, they will be welcomed by thousands upon thousands of fans. In fact, it’s expected to be so many people that the city is going to shut down. But when the Indianapolis Colts returned home yesterday, they were greeted by…11 fans. I understand that they lost the Super Bowl, but shouldn’t there be more than 11 fans welcoming them back? More »
Following their first Super Bowl victory in team history, the New Orleans Saints have a ton to be ecstatic about. Of course, this wonderful feeling could not have been possible without the gutsiness of Sean Payton, or the leadership of Drew Brees. But the one member of the Saints that I think deserves the biggest pat on the back is Tracy Porter, the Saints’ second year corner out of Indiana. Sure Payton and Brees have each been the rocks of this team throughout the season, but when the season was hanging in the balance, it was Tracy Porter who stepped up to the plate and delivered the crushing blows to the opposition. Well ladies and gentlemen, Super Bowl XLIV has come and gone, and in the end, only one team could come out as world champions. And this year, that team was the New Orleans Saints. The Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts tonight by a final score of 31-17, and have their first championship in team history. More »

Although Super Bowl 44 is looked at as a grade-A matchup between top quarterbacks in the game, the top headline leading up to the game is about the ankle of a defensive end. Even though it is true that Dwight Freeney is only a huge topic because of his injury, I am now starting to see the game from a different angle; the defensive angle. More »
Unlike franchise quarterbacks such as Joe Montana and more recently Brett Favre, it would be difficult to picture Indianapolis Colts elite signal caller Peyton Manning ever putting on a different colored jersey. According to many sources around the Super Bowl, the potential of that ever taking place is to be put out of the realm of possibility after the season concludes as the two sides will sit down and negotiate an extension for Manning’s contract. The week leading up to the Super Bowl is a lot like the week leading up to Christmas (for you Christians out there like me). It is the culmination of 11 months of thinking about football. Beginning in March at the Scouting Combine through the draft and Free Agency, and let’s not forget the grueling Training Camp and finally (FINALLY) the season starts. It all leads up to the Super Bowl. I can finally say after years of being disappointed that I don’t care who wins. Let’s look back to the Super Bowls since the Eagles have become relevant to the “Who will win the Super Bowl” discussion: 2000. More »
The NFL has been trying for years to sell the importance of an exhibition all-star game to its players from a marketing standpoint, yet now that the AFC quarterback roster consists of Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans, David Garrard of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Vince Young of the Tennessee Titans, it doesn’t appear they are buying in; at all. With the withdrawals of both Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers and Tom Brady from the New England Patriots shortly after their respective teams were eliminated from the postseason and Peyton Manning of the Indianapolis Colts having an obvious schedule confliction, the Pro Bowl has become more of a 2nd team event.
