I admit, using the word HATE is a little strong. I just think the way the NFL does the Pro Bowl is wrong. This year, as we know, the Pro Bowl is being held the weekend before the Super Bowl. Great for ratings, but bad for players. No players from either of the Super Bowl teams will participate, so no Manning, Brees, Wayne, Brackett, you get the idea (sorry to pick Colts and Saints players, but those are my picks so I have to stick to them). Therefore you have to pick alternates, then you have the babies like Tom Brady and Randy Moss who are too injured to play. Too injured? You just played in the playoffs and all 16 games, are you really too injured or are you sore losers who just don’t feel like playing? More alternates. Now we have Matt Schaub, who had a great year, but didn’t get picked for the Pro Bowl. Because of alternates and players not playing, he is considered a Pro Bowl player, even though he didn’t get voted there. The whole system seems wrong. More »

Admittedly this Darrelle Revis love fest has gotten a bit out of hand, but despite that excess use of hyperbole used to describe this guy’s cover skills, Revis continues to produce week after week. The list of names continues to grow for those that Revis has nullified this season from Andre Johnson to Randy Moss and Steve Smith to Chad Ochocinco. Add the San Diego Chargers emerging number one wideout Vincent Jackson to that list after Revis was just a blanket yesterday against the Bolts. More »

So the Patriots and Ravens will meet again for another match up and this time it’s in the playoffs. These two teams have had their share of controversial games and have established quite a rivalry heading into Sunday’s game. The Ravens have on a number of occasions been one or two plays short of beating the Patriots over the past 2 years. I believe this game will be another tough hard fought match up and the Ravens have just as much if not a better shot of beating a Patriots team that is no longer who they used to be. More »

The Baltimore Ravens are making their final preparations for their opening playoff game against the New England Patriots. But everything didn’t go the way these two teams hoped it would. Both teams saw two key players leave practice early today. More »

The New England Patriots know all too well the feeling the New Orleans Saints are experiencing right now. In 2007 it was the Patriots who were coasting along every week with consecutive wins as they went on to an undefeated regular season. The Saints however, are not nearly as impressive as the Patriots were this time two season ago. The Saints have four come from behind victories, where the Patriots were putting up close to 50 points on opponents and being accused of running up the score after a game was clearly out of reach for the opposing teams. Following the most exciting game of the NFL season so far, I can only say one thing: ”Wow.” Now, everybody will come away from that game and say that Bill Belichick is a moron, and he should have punted the ball on 4th and 2 from his own 30-yard line. However, I say that hindsight is 20-20, and I respect Bill Belichick and his decision to go for the win. Here’s why: More »

The NFL is a funny place as things can swing from big success for a team to disappointing failure one season to the next. The New England Patriots are used to big success, but last season they had a disappointing blow, losing quarterback Tom Brady to a season ending knee injury. This season the Patriots look to resume their dominance of the AFC over the past decade with another successful season. Standing in their way is an overachieving Indianapolis Colts team, who are also used to greatness, but this season seem to have the edge over New England in AFC supremacy. At 8-0 it’ll be New England’s turn to play spoiler and bring down the AFC’s new “Goliath”, the Indianapolis Colts. More »

Well folks, the biggest game of the NFL season is almost upon us, as the New England Patriots try to hand the Indianapolis Colts their first loss of the season. This game is always one to look forward to, since it does pit the two best quarterbacks in the game in Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. More »

What’s wrong with Tom Brady this season? In 2007 he consistently completed the deep ball to Randy Moss multiple times per game, but this season he has been horribly inaccurate with all of his throws further than 30 yards down the field. During his weekly press conference, Tom Brady was asked repeatedly about his trouble completing the deep ball to Randy Moss and the other Patriots receivers this season. Here’s what he had to say: More »

I expected the Patriots-Broncos game to be the game of the week, but I never expected it would end up going into overtime and I definitely didn’t think Kyle Orton would end up completing 35 of his 48 passing attempts. In fact, if you would have told me that Orton was going to throw that many times, I would have put my entire life’s savings on the New England Patriots in a landslide. Unfortunately, I would have lost everything because the Denver Broncos remain undefeated at 5-0 after beating the Patriots 20-17 in overtime. More »
