It’s been a long, nervous off-season for fans of the Tennessee Titans. And why shouldn’t they be nervous? Their best player has been holding out for a new contract and without that best player, there is no way that this team even thinks about getting into the playoffs. It’s been quite the interesting day for the Tennessee Titans. For starters, Vince Young decided to act like a fool, and go after a guy over misrepresenting the “Hook ‘em Horns” symbol. And then linebacker Gerald McGrath was suspended four games by the league for violating the performance-enhancing substances policy. In what has started to become a regular thing for him, Redskins’ defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is once again the center of attention in Washington, with rumors still flying that he could be traded in the near future. If the Redskins want to get any value out of this trade, they better do it now. Because the longer they wait, the more his value goes down. It’s as simple as that. More »


There’s the quite the dilemma facing the Tennessee Titans right now, as all-world running back Chris Johnson is holding out for more money from the organization, and it’s looking like there is no easy solution in sight. We’ve seen this situation plenty of times with the Titans. They don’t like to pay top-dollar for one player. Earlier in the offseason, young receiver DeSean Jackson was expected to request the Eagles for a new contract that would increase his salary. Though the team has spent some money signing new players like Marlin Jackson and inking trade acquisitions like Darryl Tapp to long-term deals, a new contract for Jackson has yet to come. In fact, the 2-year veteran of the league is not expected to receive one for quite a while. The Philadelphia Daily News network has reported that the new rules put into place as a result of the unresolved Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations will make it difficult for teams–including the Eagles–to lock up players with extensions of their previous payment structures. To some people, it’s just March 1st. But for NFL fans, this should feel like Christmas day. Why? Because we have official reports that a certain player named Pacman Jones could be making his return to the league. He is scheduled to work out for NFL scouts on March 19 according to reports. More »


For all the injuries and inconsistency the Eagles’ offensive line has gone through this season, they have been rewarded graciously by the league. According to official results from the NFL.com website, the Birds’ line has been nominated as a candidate for the Madden Most Valuable Protectors award. The honor, which was established this season, is designed to acknowledge the best offensive front in the league, annually in the form of a bronze trophy depicting a castle wall made up of five offensive lineman. With trade acquisition Jason Peters earning a Pro-Bowl appearance at the Left Tackle spot, Todd Herremans rebounding from a preseason surgery to play successfully at multiple Guard spots, and C Jamaal Jackson and RT Winston Justice both performing at a constant level throughout the year, the Eagles seem to have a decent chance of earning the award.
